I'm a Michigan wedding and portrait photographter. I'm the one who will assist with planning your wedding timeline, help pin on boutineers, answer your questions and capture your moments the way they deserve to be.
I started my photography business in 2014. I was going to school for my master's degree, working part time at the St. Clair County Library System, photographing people on the weekends and dreaming about becoming a full-time photographer. Almost 10 years later and that dream is now a reality! In April 2023, I left my job at the library to pursue photography full-time!
Taking the leap was scary, but it's what God was calling me to do, and it's been worth every minute! Spending my time serving my couples and doing what I'm passionate about has been so rewarding! How many people get to do that every day?!
I love working with my couples. My goals is to help them shine in front of the camera throughout both their engagement session and at their wedding. Something I hear a lot from the couples is how relaxed and fun our time together is. While I take my job very seriously, I want you to enjoy yourself. On your wedding day, you will be spending more time with me than almost anyone else. I want you to feel at ease and truly enjoy the excitement that will surround you on your wedding day. If you don't feel free to be yourself around your photographer, then you won't love your images and they won't feel like you.

I’m sure your mind is racing with all that needs to be planned. It’s all very exciting but it can also be somewhat overwhelming. You’re planning the day that you’ve been anticipating your whole life and yet you only get one shot at it! By the time you get the hang of it, the planning is over! My goal as a wedding photographer is to make this one aspect of the planning process simple. Photography is more than just images, it’s a real part of your day. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience. When my couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, that results are genuine, joyful images! Your wedding day is an experience from beginning to end and your photography is a huge part of that experience..... shouldn’t it be fun? and enjoyable? and natural? I think so! My goal is to not only capture memories for my clients, it’s to create an experience that they will never forget.

One way I ensure that my brides and grooms enjoy the BEST photographic experience possible is through forming a relationship with my couples. I try my best to make sure that all of my couples are a perfect fit for me before officially booking. A bride and groom should CONNECT with their photographer, trust their photographer and be EXCITED about the whole process with them! After booking, I love getting to know my clients through an ENGAGEMENT SESSION that helps them warm up to the camera (and to me) so that they are ready to rock it on their wedding day! By the time the wedding day arrives, my clients feel more like friends and that creates a relaxed environment for photography! Your first decision as an engaged couple is to set priorities for your wedding planning. You have to decide what you value most. Is it the dress? The food? The Venue? The photographs?
After the big day is over, you will leave your reception with a spouse & your pictures.... that’s it! All of that planning and preparation is over in a matter of hours!
I'm a big believer that images aren’t meant to solely exist in a digital space. One day, most likely, Instagram will be gone, your phone will be replaced and images that you can physically hold in your hand will be the best way to remember those precious moments I captured.
Think about this fact: fifteen years ago, if I had delivered you digital images, they would have been on a floppy disk. With the fast updates to technology, you would have no way to access those images today. Even the online galleries I deliver will eventually fade away.
One of the best ways to make your wedding memories last is by ordering an album. These high quality albums come in a variety of linen & leather colors. These aren’t the same albums your parents' wedding photos came in. The images are printed straight onto the pages. They’re modern, lay perfectly flat and look incredible on a coffee table. This is the perfect ending to The Wedding Experience and it’s a keepsake that you will be showing your children and grandchildren one day!

Why choose me?
With a simple post on Facebook, you can gather a list of over 100 photographers in the Blue Water Area. You may be feeling overwhelmed and unsure about who to trust to capture your wedding day. So why should you choose me? Because I understand the importance of a photo and will work hard to not only capture the feel of your day, but also the special people you invited.
I lost my father in 2021 and will never have the chance for him to walk me down the aisle or to share a dad and daughter dance. I have had past couples lose parents or grandparents only weeks or months after their wedding and the photos I took are the last ones they will ever have. The people in our lives are important and I not only capture the details of your day, I capture the people who helped to make it so special.
At a reception not everyone gets out on the dance floor, many, especially the elderly, will stay seated the whole time. I do my best to capture at least one image of everyone at your wedding by not only photographing the dance floor, but those sitting at tables too. Your wedding day is something that cannot be redone; relax and trust me to take care of you and those you love.

Engagement Session
Unless you’re a model, being photographed probably feels a little awkward. I do this for a living and I still feel a little uncomfortable when I have my photo taken.
I love engagement sessions for a few reasons. First, they allow you to get to know me and to get comfortable in front of the camera. It takes time for most couples to warm up to being photographed and understand how I work and pose people. Timelines are usually tight on weddings days and 30 minutes may be all we have for portraits - which is why
I’ve found that wedding day portraits turn out so much better when couples do engagement sessions ahead of time, because you already know what to expect.
Second, you can showcase your personalities in a more casual setting that is significant to the two of you (and even include pets!) While they’re great for save-the-dates, I’ve taken engagement photos anywhere from 18 months in advance to a few days before the wedding.
Most wedding collections come with a complimentary engagement session. The session below is for copules looking to book Collection Three or for those just looking for an engagement session.

Frequently Asked questions
I'm based near Memphis, Michigan, and love to travel! Sessions further than 30 miles from Memphis, Michigan will incur a travel fee. Mention your location when you contact me, and I will provide a quote. If your location is on my list of places I'd like to photograph, you may be eligible for special pricing.
You will receive an email with your online gallery link, a bonus mobile app, and other instructions 6-8 weeks after your wedding. This timeframe could be shorter depending on the season.
Typically, I average 100 images per hour during a wedding, but this number will vary based on several factors. How many hours you've selected, your wedding party size, the number of guests, your reception events, the amount of time you've provided for bride and groom portraits, etc., will change the number of images in your gallery.
Your photos will be delivered in an online gallery and curated into folders from the various parts of your day. At the beginning of your gallery, you will see an "April's Favorites" folder, this is where I put images that I consider to be the best of the best when telling your story. As a bonus you will also receive a link to a mobile app. The images in your online gallery are larger files and are best for downloading to your computer, meanwhile the mobile app downloads are smaller files that don't take up as much storage on your phone and are a better size for sharing on social media. Feel free to share these links with your friends and family.
My preference is to use natural light while taking portraits, but I am fully equipped to work with flash in any scenario. My goal is to have a similar look and feel with my flash images as I have with my natural light images, this way you'll receive a gallery that is consistent throughout your day.
First, you will need to fill out the inquiry form on my website. Once I receive this, I will send you an email with a couple of questions and a link to my pricing guide full of information. Your wedding is a day that cannot be repeated so I want to make sure we are a perfect fit and that I'm the right person for you. If you choose to book with me, a contract will need to be signed and a 20%
non-refundable retainer paid.
I am currently booking 2025-2026 wedding dates. I know 2 years out seems far away but not in the wedding world! Dates are filled quickly, and I only accept 18-20 weddings a year. Booking further out will give you more options when picking vendors and venues, it will spread out your payments helping to make things more affordable, and you'll be able to choose the perfect season for your engagement session.
My wedding packages include one photographer, with the option to add a second photographer. If you decide on a second photographer, I will hire a photographer who I trust to work with me on your wedding day. If I can, I would love to bring a wedding day assistant to help me. They will capture the day for social media and get bonus coverage (phone videos) of your day! You would also get these bonus videos from me after your wedding!
I do! I know this is an investment, so I make it easier by offering various payment plans that work with your budget. Unless otherwise requested, your total will be divided into 4 payments, but can be customized as needed. The non-refundable deposit to hold your date is 20% at the signing of your contract.
My cameras record each photo to 2 different memory cards. If there is an issue with a memory card, I have a backup!
After your wedding, I transfer your wedding photos to a solid state hard drive and do not delete them from my camera cards until after your images are edited and uploaded to your online gallery.
For your engagement session, we can reschedule if the weather is bad, although I have worked in snow and rain. On your wedding day, obviously rescheduling isn't an option, but don't worry! I have a collection of clear umbrellas and can rearrange the schedule to accommodate for anything.
In my 9+ years of photographing weddings, I have never missed a wedding. I would love to say that this will always be the case, but unfortunately, we never know what the future holds. In the case of an emergency, you have the option to trust me to provide a backup photographer that I have all the confidence in to photograph your wedding day, or you can choose your own replacement.
