Over the years, Alexander’s Banquet Hall has become a spot where Michigan residents know they can go to have the time of their lives. This is all because of the team behind the venue. Alex Mill, the owner of the hall, is no stranger to hospitality. Before he started this venue, he received recognition as the Caterer of the Year in 2006 by NACE. He has also planned events that have been featured on national programs such as Home Delivery. He brings this expertise to all of his events, giving you a neutral backdrop with all the accommodations for a completely seamless celebration.
They give you several options for using this space for your wedding. If you want, you can just book it as a reception space where you can go once you have finished with your vows. Some couples choose to host every second of their wedding here, giving you a convenient spot from start to finish. No matter what you choose, they are going to make sure you have everything you need!
Details of the Grounds
When I worked with Hannah and Jacob, they chose to have their reception at Alexander’s Banquet Hall and host the rest of their wedding elsewhere. The pair started off the day at their church. Hannah got ready for the day in the youth classrooms while she shared snacks and drinks with her party. After she put on her dress, they headed outside for pictures. Meanwhile, the guys spent some time in the gym, unwinding over a game of basketball before it was time for their ceremony to begin.
The two exchanged their vows in the sanctuary while surrounded by their family and friends. From there, they headed outside and took some pictures around Port Huron along the water’s edge.
A Stunning Alexander’s Banquet Hall Reception
We headed to Alexander’s Banquet Hall for their reception. When I say this room is ready for all kinds of celebrations, I mean it! It offers enough space for up to 700 people, giving you plenty of space to spread out as you dance. If you do decide you want to host your wedding here, they offer an on-site bridal suite where you can get ready for your day. This is also a helpful spot to store all the necessities for reception-only celebrations. The primary ballroom is elegant without being too flashy, inviting you to bring in your own decorations for your ideal backdrop. The room features white walls and white ceilings as well as a large black dance floor and subtly patterned carpet. Just outside of the room, there’s a grand staircase where you can start out your big and dramatic entrance.
Hannah and Jacob chose to add some drapery to the door frame, giving them a dreamy backdrop for their grand entrance. After people had shared a meal, they headed out to the floor to dance beneath the statement chandeliers before the rest of their party joined them. For the next several hours, their guests had the time of their lives celebrating this sweet couple. Truly, it was a day worthy of their love story!
Photography Opportunities
With Alexander’s Banquet Hall, there are a few designated spots inside where you can take your pictures. The grand staircase is always a favorite! If you choose to get married on-site, this will be the perfect spot for your first look portraits. You can also use this as a way to get posed pictures with your partner while showing off the train of your dress. If you would prefer to get some outdoor pictures, you will be near extremely scenic spots like Chrysler Beach and Mermaid Park.

When you choose Alexander’s Banquet Hall for your wedding, you are choosing a team that will be there through all the stress of planning. Well before your wedding day arrives, you will begin to work with your culinary team to plan your ideal meal. They give you several options, including plated dinners, family-style meals, and buffets. You will start out by deciding what you want your meal to look like, and from there, they will help you plan out the individual offerings.
If you choose to have alcohol at your wedding, their bartenders will be on-site mixing up delicious drinks. You will have a four-hour bar where your guests can enjoy beer, wine, and specialty drinks. They will make sure the party continues as long as you’d like!
