Located in St. Clair County, Solitude Links brings you one of the finest golf courses in the state. This property has all the charm of Michigan: rolling green fields, crystal clear water, and evergreen trees that stay lush all year long. The course was designed to bring tradition back to golf with natural challenges that make each game unforgettable. Because of its difficulty, this course has earned its way onto the bucket list of some of the top golfers in the country!
While the course might have earned this property its reputation, the events are in a league all of their own. Solitude Links offers beautiful views, a fabulous menu, and onsite accommodations that will make every second of your wedding truly legendary. With their help, this will be a day you will never want to forget!
Details of the Grounds
Solitude Links is an award-winning venue ready to be there for every second of your wedding day. They have onsite lodging that you can reserve throughout your weekend. This is going to be the perfect spot where you can get ready alongside your wedding party. If you choose to rent out Solitude Inn of the Green, you will have a 5,800-square-foot house that can accommodate up to 24 guests. With the 6 separate guestrooms, you can get ready separately from your partner before it’s time for your first look portraits. The house also has a balcony ideal for your individual bridal portraits.
For your ceremony, you will head outside to the gazebo. This hand-crafted wooden structure is perched on top of the lake, offering the best views in the entire county! As you exchange your vows, your guests will watch on from a concrete landing pad right next to the golf course. The sidewalk leading to this space offers the perfect aisle for both your dramatic entrance as well as your exit.
Once it’s time for you to take your formal portraits, your guests can head up to the clubhouse, where they’ll enjoy a cocktail hour on the balcony. This space has been outfitted with comfortable furniture situated around electric fireplaces. They also have an onsite bar where your guests can order specialty drinks.
Your evening will conclude with an indoor reception in the clubhouse. Inside Harmony Hall, you will have a warm and rustic space you can completely transform as you see fit. The space features wooden walls, two built-in bars, and polished concrete floors. The exterior walls have been outfitted with large windows that let in all of the surrounding views. This venue is ready to hold 300 guests.
Photography Opportunities
There are few wedding venues quite as photogenic as Solitude Links! I highly recommend booking out the onsite inn where you can get ready with your partner. Not only is this highly convenient, but it is going to give you the very best backdrop as you prepare for the day alongside your wedding party. You can pop open a bottle of champagne as we snap some pictures of you celebrating. This house is located just off the fairway of the third hole, so you can head outside to the golf course and get some pictures once you are in your gown.
For your formal group pictures, the gazebo is the best spot! This area offers exceptional views while giving your party an accessible space to stand. For your couple’s portraits, you can head around the course and explore. While I don’t think there are any bad views on this property, both the artificial waterfall and the banks across the lake are particularly amazing!
Wedding Details
Last but not least, let’s chat about all the amenities Solitude Links will give you throughout your wedding day. This venue brings you an award-winning staff ready to help you plan every last detail. When you first book their team, you will be matched with an in-house event coordinator who will help you build your timeline. They can also work with you to decide on the best spot to host every part of your wedding, making sure your site completely matches your vision! Once your day arrives, the venue will provide you with staffing, help out with your decor, and make sure your guests have everything they need throughout the evening. They can also provide you with custom linens and rentals that can completely transform your space!
The venue offers regular tastings and will work with you to schedule yours so you can build your menu. During your appointment, you can pick out the entree and the appetizer for your reception.
The venue just unrolled a shuttle service that can transport up to 20 people to and from the surrounding hotels, and they can work with you to plan multiple trips if necessary. If you choose, you can reserve the onsite house throughout the weekend so that you and your new spouse have the perfect place to relax once the day is over!
