Located in gorgeous Irish Hills, White Birch Wedding Barn is a venue unlike any you’ve ever seen. While the venue first started hosting celebrations in 2023, it dates back much further than that. The idea was born when Amie and Pat Pelham talked about opening up a venue of their own. The two already had tons of experience–Pat’s mom had opened a catering company, and Amie had spent years helping out–but life just seemed to get in the way. They put off discussions of opening up a venue as they focused on raising their sons and building their careers. But in 2022, the conversation came back up, and they knew it was time to take a leap of faith. 

They designed the venues the following January and broke ground in June. As they worked, they thought about all the elements couples actually wanted for their wedding day. Of course, they wanted a gorgeous setting, but they also wanted exceptional accommodations for an easier day. They leaned into the farm aesthetic while still incorporating timeless decor that weddings of all styles could want. They additionally focused on things like accessibility and ground textures to ensure every guest could fully enjoy their experience. The venue has since spent the past two years throwing legendary celebrations while giving couples everything they could possibly need for the wedding of their dreams!

Details of the Grounds

White Birch Wedding Barn has been outfitted with locations for every second of your wedding, starting as soon as you arrive at the venue. When you pull up, the venue will whisk you away to the bridal suite where you can get ready alongside your best friends. The color palette in this area is neutral with gray and white wallpaper, cream-colored furniture, and white accents. They also feature a salon space where you can put on all the finishing touches, plus they have a balcony ideal for your portraits. Meanwhile, your groom is going to have his own separate space where he can get ready alongside his friends. The interior features dark leather furniture, while the exterior has a putting green perfect for blowing off some steam before it’s time for your wedding to begin. 

While the interior is a great backup plan in the case of inclement weather, the exterior is the spot to exchange vows. This part of the property is perfectly flat with a small, white arbor you can use for your ceremony. Just behind you, a line of young trees infuses a touch of nature amidst the rolling flat farmland. Depending on the season, you might see round hay bales scattered throughout the lush acres. It’s picturesque while still giving you the feeling of seclusion you want throughout your wedding day! 

Everything After Your White Birch Wedding Barn Ceremony

Once you have a brand new ring on your finger, your guests can head over to the covered back porch where they can enjoy signature drinks throughout your cocktail hour. As they spend some time outside playing lawn games or relaxing in the provided seating, you can explore the property and find the best spot for your portraits. 

Your wedding will conclude with a reception inside the barn. While this room is sophisticated, it was also created to be a bit of a blank slate with white walls, thin black accents, and tan flooring. Statement chandeliers light up the room while a black-and-white floral mural to the side will shine throughout your pictures. The venue also features a working electric marble fireplace with a mantle you can use for a neon sign with your last name. It’s the best spot to put your head table for some picture-perfect moments throughout the dinner portion! The interior additionally has black barn doors you can open up for added space, and they have a glass garage door near the entertainment area that you can open up for some fresh air. White Birch Wedding Barn is able to accommodate up to 260 guests. 

Photography Opportunities

While I don’t think there’s a single bad site at White Birch, I do have a few favorites. The interiors were created to be a neutral backdrop as you take your get-ready pictures. While the large windows in the bridal suite let in tons of natural light for posed portraits, the putting green is always a fun option for candid groom portraits. 

If you do plan on having first look portraits, I highly recommend using the balcony leading into the bridal suite. The sliding barn doors are the perfect way to show off your look to your spouse-to-be! Outside will be the best spot for your couple’s portraits. From the rolling meadows to the forest on the edge of the property, you will find endless spots to share an intimate moment! And lastly, the ceremony lawn makes for a great group photo space with your friends and your family. 

Wedding Details

White Birch Wedding Barn will give you freedom as you plan your wedding. You will be able to choose your own vendors, and they will provide you with a catering kitchen as well as private entrances. The exterior has been outfitted with artificial turf, and you will have a golf cart to help you navigate the grounds. In the words of the Pelhams, “our goal is that women’s shoes and dresses should never touch dirt.” With these accommodations, you can have outdoorsy portraits without any of the hassle or the mess you might get with other venues! The entire barn is temperature-controlled, and you will have wifi and ambient lighting throughout your day. Oh, and don’t worry about the furniture. They’ll take care of it all!
