9861 Meisner Rd, Casco, Michigan 48064
Golden Hawk Golf Course is a scenic space that straddles Macomb and St. Clair County. Originally established in 1996, the course was purchased by Rob Vargo in 2015 and completely renovated. Today, it provides Michigan residents with a picturesque spot where they can unwind over a round of golf before enjoying world-class dining in the clubhouse. They offer an events team who loves working with couples around the area to plan their perfect wedding. When you combine their dedication to iconic celebrations with your unique vision, you are going to have a wedding day you will never forget!

When I worked with Wesley and Emily for their wedding day, we started out the morning on the Golden Hawk Golf Course property. The venue provides you with get-ready spaces where you can put on all the finishing touches ahead of your ceremony. Not only are these rooms extremely spacious, but they are also very picturesque! We spent some time getting pictures inside before it was time to head out for the first look pictures.

Wesley and Emily exchanged their vows at the venue’s ceremony site with the green course right behind them. This space has been thoughtfully built to ensure your guests can watch in comfort. They will sit on chairs set on a wooden deck while you say your I do’s at the front of the area beneath the gazebo. The entirety of this space is surrounded by mature trees, giving your guests plenty of shade without obscuring the views of the rest of the property. While this area is lovely as is, the couple decided to add drapery to the gazebo in their wedding colors while placing lush bouquets full of flowers behind their officiant. It looked positively stunning!

Following the ceremony, the couple spent some time chatting with their guests before it was time to take their portraits. As they wandered around the property looking for gorgeous backdrops, their guests stayed by the clubhouse, enjoying drinks before the reception began.

Like most couples, Wesley and Emily chose to have their reception inside the clubhouse in the banquet hall. This area is able to hold up to 250 guests. In order to access this space, you will go up a grand staircase, giving you the ideal setup for a big and dramatic entrance.

The thing I love the most about this space is how easy it is to customize to your vision. The room features high, cathedral ceilings illuminated by crystal chandeliers. The walls have been painted with light beige, while large French windows let in plenty of light. The room will also be outfitted with a large dance floor where your guests can party for hours! Throughout the evening, Wesley and Emily celebrated alongside their family while sharing intimate dances with each other. It was a truly unforgettable night, and I feel so honored that they let me share it with them!

Throughout Wesley and Emily’s wedding day, we found countless Golden Hawk Golf Course areas perfect for their wedding portraits! We mostly stayed inside for Emily’s individual pics so she could hide away before it was time to see Wesley. The get-ready rooms have been outfitted with light gray walls and modern furniture, serving as a neutral backdrop for candid pictures. Meanwhile, we went outside the clubhouse with Wesley, taking sunlit pictures on the outdoor patio.

The pair chose to have first look portraits outside on the golf course with the weeping willows in the backdrop. It was sunny yet intimate, with the towering branches giving them an extra layer of privacy. We also used the staircase in the clubhouse for posed couples’ pictures. This gave us a refined background perfect for showing off the intricate train of Emily’s dress. For most of the pictures, we stayed outside on the golf course. The rolling green hills added the right amount of nature without us having to venture out too far! We also had tons of fun with the vintage Chevy on the property!

When you work with Golden Hawk Golf Course, you will start out with their event director, who will help you plan every moment of your wedding celebration. They bring years of experience to this role, walking you through everything from preferred vendors to floorplan ideas. Whatever you have in mind for your wedding, this team is going to make sure it becomes a reality! They can also help you find different rentals that will complete your aesthetic.

Then, once your day arrives, their hospitality team will be the ones to keep it going smoothly. They have a team of bartenders who will be there to mix up specialty cocktails and mocktails or keep the wine flowing as much as you would like. Their culinary team will work with you ahead of your wedding to create the ideal menu, and they will serve it up throughout your reception. When your guests arrive at the property, they will be able to park on-site.
