First opened in 2023, The Glenn Royal Barn might be one of the newer venues around. Nonetheless, it has wasted no time earning the love and praise of couples all across the state! Before it started hosting legendary celebrations, the venue existed simply as a dream of Paulette Heleski, a local hairdresser. Paulette was smitten with her beloved town, Port Austin, but was frustrated seeing how few options there were when it came to weddings. She had watched as countless brides planned their celebrations far away from home simply because there was nowhere to tie the knot. 

When Paulette decided it was time for a change in her career, she knew exactly what she wanted to do. She worked with her husband, Perry, and their son, Carson, to design a wedding venue unlike any other. The trio created a rustic yet sophisticated barn where every corner was designed for luxury. And when it finally came time to open the venue, they had their perfect first client: Perry and Paulette’s own daughter! Since then, this venue has become a favorite for local couples looking for their ideal venue. Not only does it deliver the best setting for your wedding day, but it also gives you a team deeply passionate about throwing your dream party. Details of the Grounds

While locals already know all about the magic of Port Austin, travelers are in for quite a treat. Located in the heart of Huron County, this teensy town is made up of a mere one square mile with less than 650 residents. With a friendly atmosphere and exceptional lake views, it might just be one of the best hidden gems in all of Michigan! 

Because it is such a quaint village, you will have an unbelievably charming backdrop throughout your wedding day. And the best part? You won’t even have to leave the grounds to enjoy it all. When you arrive at The Glenn Royal Barn, you will be shown to the bridal suite, where you will have plenty of space to get ready alongside your bridal party. This is a BYOB venue, so you can bring along some champagne and raise a glass as you get ready. 

Meanwhile, the groom will have his own separate space where he can unwind before the ceremony alongside his party. In addition to these suites, the venue offers six on-site cottages where you can stay throughout your weekend. With these cozy suites, you can ditch the typical hustle and bustle before your ceremony and trade it all in for a relaxing morning with the people you love the most! 

Ceremonies And Beyond At The Glenn Royal Barn Venue

Once your wedding starts, you will head outside to the lawn just behind the barn. The site features a verdant flat field where your guests will be seated in chairs provided through the venue. A walkway runs through the center of the site, giving you the perfect aisle for your processional. The front of this area features a darling outbuilding shaped like a chapel, complete with gothic-inspired windows. The exterior of this space is wrapped with raw wood, while the entrance gives you the ideal arbor to exchange vows. The back of the building features a tree line that will add the feeling of seclusion to your event. 

Once your ceremony is over, your guests can head to the barn, where they will have a covered space for their cocktail hour. They can play lawn games and sip on signature cocktails until it’s time for your reception to begin. 

Your evening will conclude inside the barn, where you will have plenty of space to party! The interior is unlike anything you have ever seen before. It stays true to the rustic theme with wooden walls that give way to a raftered wooden barn ceiling. String lights add a bit of intimacy while crystal chandeliers elevate the atmosphere. The barn features a loft you will be able to use for the day. While some couples choose to use it for extra seating, others use it for additional vendor space. That balcony will come in handy whether you are throwing a bouquet or sharing a kiss for your wedding portraits! The Glenn Royal Barn can hold up to 445 guests, making this the ideal option for parties of pretty much every size!

Once you are done here, you can head outside, where you will have the meadow and the surrounding forest as a backdrop for your wedding party. Your ceremony will have tons of natural light as you exchange your vows out in the open field. Once you have finished, you can take some group portraits outside in front of the expansive white barn.
